Date Bars
biscuits
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup cut-up, pitted dates (8 oz.)
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
2 eggs
1 cup c&h golden brown sugar
1/4 cup salad oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Combine with dates and nuts; set aside. Beat eggs, add sugar and beat well. Mix in oil and vanilla. Sift in flour-date mixture, mixing thoroughly. Spread evenly in greased and floured 13x9-inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. When slightly cool, cut into bars. Makes about 3 dozen bars.
