Crockpot Chicken & Cheddar Sauce

2 lb chicken
2 tablespoon butter or margerine
1/2 cup ham strips
10 3/4 oz cream of cheddar soup
1 tomato, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1/4 teaspoon basil

Brown chicken in butter and remove to crockpot. Brown ham and combine remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken and ham in crockpot. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours until chicken is tender. Note: Acquired from Jean Allen (GRDG72B) Prodigy December 30, 1991.
