Kentucky Pecan Pie

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large lightly beaten eggs
1 1/4 cup shelled whole pecans
Combine the syrup, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. Mix well. Add the slightly beaten eggs. Pour into a 9" unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle pecans over all. Bake in a 350øF oven for 45 minutes. When cool, top with whipped cream or ice cream. From: Syd's Cookbook.
