Double-boiler Bread Puddingpuddings 1 cup Brown sugar; packed 3 slices White bread slices; buttered into 3/4-in. cubes 2 Eggs 2 cups Milk 1/2 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Vanilla Place brown sugar in top of double boiler. Place bread cubes on top of sugar. Beat eggs with milk, salt and vanilla and pour over bread. Place over simmering water, cover and cook 1 1/2 hours. Do not stir.
