Herb Blends As Salt Substitutes
diabetic, herb/spice
----BLEND A FOR SALADS----
1 salt shakers
2 teaspoon thyme
2 teaspoon savory
1 teaspoon sage
2 teaspoon basil
1 tablespoon marjoram
----BLEND B FOR SOUPS, STEWS----
1 poultry or pot roast
1 tablespoon thyme
1 teaspoon sage
2 teaspoon rosemary
1 tablespoon marjoram
----BLEND C FOR BEEF----
1 cooked vegetables
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 tablespoon marjoram
1 tablespoon thyme
1 tablespoon basil
Mix ingredients for chosen blend and grind together in blender or mortar and pestle. Sore in tightly convered glass jar. Use in place of salt for cooking or sprinkle over foods.
