Lemon Ice

1 pint lemon juice
1 quart sugar
1 quart water
2 egg whites

To lemon juice, add sugar and water, in which the thin rind of three lemons has been allowed to stand until highly flavored; when partly frozen add egg whites, beaten to a stiff froth.
