Hushpuppies - Billy Jean'sbbq list, hushpuppies 2 Cups self-rising corn meal 1 egg 1 Tablespoon mayonnaise salt buttermilk oil for frying Combine corn meal, egg, mayonnaise and salt in a mixing bowl. Slowly add buttermilk to make a stiff batter. Drop by spoonful into hot oil to fry. Remove hushpuppies when brown.
