Doughnuts, Low Carb
bread- sweet
1 cup soy protein isolate; not soy flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup Splenda, bulk
2 large egg
1 tsp vanilla; or coconut flavoring
1/4 cup cream
1/4 cup water; .5-.75 &1
----Icing:----
2 oz cream cheese
1 tsp cream
1/4 cup Splenda; to taste
flavoring of choice
&1: (enough to make a shapeable dough)
Sift dry ingredients together. Add flavoring, egg, cream, and water. Form into balls the size of doughnut holes (if I use icing, I flattened them slightly). Fry in hot oil (I use a Fry Daddy) until browned. (You might have to break one open to see if it's done).
I shake the round ones in a mixture of Splenda and cinnamon.
For icing: Beat together and frost those doughnuts!
These are excellent if I do say so myself......and very low in carbs.....the soy has zero!
