Paprika Rice
rice, side dish
2 cup rice
5 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon tomatoe paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1 pinch of thyme
Heat the oil in a heavy saucepan. Add the rice and onion and saute, stirring, until golden. Add the tomato paste, thyme and paprika and mix well. Pour in 2 cups of water and season. Add the bay leaf and let boil for about 20 minutes, until rice is done. Source: Great Moments in Cooking ch.
