Bramborova Polevka Zasmazena

1 1/4 lb potatoes, peeled, cubed
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3 oz root vegetables, chopped
1/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup flour
6 cup water
3 oz mushrooms, fresh
1 salt
1 each garlic clove, crushed
1 pinch marjoram
1 parsley, chopped

Fry root vegetables in the shortening. Sprinkle with flour and fry until golden brown. Cover with cold water, stir well. Add mushrooms and potatoes, boil for about 20 minutes. Finally, add garlic, salt, marjoram and reheat. Flavor with chopped parsley as needed.
