Cold Water Fruit Cakecakes, fruits 2 cup white sugar 2 tablespoon shortening 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon cloves 1 lb raisins (seeded) 2 cup cold water 3 cup flour 1 teaspoon soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla combine 1st.7 ingrediences in saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 5 min. Let cool. Then add vanilla. Add the flour, soda and salt mixture & at the same time add cut up cherries & nuts at least a 1/2 cup each. I also add a cup regular raisins. Pour batter into a greased & floured tube pan and bake in 350 oven 1 1/2 hrs. |
