Cranberry Fruit Nut Bread

2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1 each beaten egg
3/4 cup orange juice
1 cup chopped cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Combine peel, juice and egg. Add to dry ingredients, mixing just enough to moisten. Fold in cranberries and nuts. Turn into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350ø for 60 minutes. Cool, wrap, and store overnight before slicing.
